Day 1 @ The Office
Posted by David | Filed under Uncategorized |

Entering the Stack office...

My desk on the left...
Since this is my first post, I should probably introduce myself. I’m David, the new intern @ Stack Clothing. I’ll be updating this blog frequently with my epic adventures and sporadic thoughts…
Yesterday I attended my first meeting with the Stack crew and to my pleasant surprise, we all threw down some pretty fresh ideas for the launch of the new 2010 t–shirt line. We’ll be teaming up with my record label Veevooz Productions and the Phlox team to launch our digital label along side Stack’s new apparel. The three of us will be planning for a massive event, but the date isn’t set in stone… we’re shooting for mid August. We’re planning on having Live musicians and DJs, a poker tournament, and an art gallery w/ a silent auction. How will a silent auction and a poker tournament take place amidst thumping dance music and blasting guitar amps you ask? The event will begin during the afternoon with the poker tournament and the art gallery setup… when night falls, we’ll clear the tables and throw down some thick beats.
After the meeting, I drove over to the outskirts of K–town and hit up Boy Afrika DJs / producers Yasix & Farid. We got their midi sync up and running with their external synths so they can have a more hands–on approach to live performance and synthesis. Farid ( in the photo below) is getting his festival groove on with the effects….sans the massive crowd.
I’ll be back to post some more happenings and random stuff after EDC. Payce!

Lakers Parade
Posted by sMoKes | Filed under Uncategorized |
Got up at 8 in the morning, get to LA by 10. Takes almost 50 mins to park. Barely in time to watch the beginning park of the parade.

We end up at the beginning section of the parade which was suppose to start at 11, but didn’t start till 20 to 30 mins after.
With mostly everyone wearing Kobe jersey’s, we represented Lakers by wearing Foreign Family gear:

Everyone had Laker spirit

With the parade about to start.. we get ready to take pictures. First two trucks.. Laker Girls:

Next truck had families or people we didn’t recognize and then comes the 4th truck.
Everyone going crazy chanting “KO-BE, KO-BE” and it goes to “M-V-P, M-V-P”

You can see Kobe holding the trophy with his family next to him

You can see Ron Artest (the hero of game 7) in a black shirt with red writing:

Here a picture of the whole team on the bus:

After the team bus, we started to leave to beat the storm of Lakers fans. As we’re walking we see a GT-R parked where everyone is walking through. Bad place to park as I saw many people touching the car as they pass by. Still a beautiful car:

People leaving…

Chillin at the oFFice of Foreign Family!
Posted by sMoKes | Filed under Uncategorized |
Friday afternoon, taking care of some stuff in LA, we decided to go check out Yuko Kitchen for some grub. Yuko Kitchen is always mentioned on Foreign Family’s blog, so we decided to give it a try.

As we arrive, we see posters and stickers of CRYPTIK everywhere.

I’m sure you guys have seen this image posted all over LA and other cities as well.

Inside Yuko Kitchen, you can see the artwork created by Foreign Family:

and signs:

As we’re finishing up eating, we happen to run into Chad (Foreign Family) & Nima (Digital Gravel).

Being the nice people they are, Chad invites us to his office to let us hang out with MR44.

Thanks FFamily for letting us chill at your oFFice..
To MR44, thank you so much for helping us out and for the shirts and stickers as well!

In other World Cup news, England was so devastated by their 1-1 tie with USA that their media outlets would not show actual highlights from the game. The real footage was so unbearable, they had to reenact the game with Lego men:
USA’s next game is Friday 7:00am PST against Slovenia.

NBA Finals Update:
Posted by ThomasG | Filed under Uncategorized |
With Shrek and Donkey’s 4th quarter performance, the series is tied 2-2. The league got what they wanted. Boston came back to make it a series in a Game 4 with the highest ratings since 2004(LA vs Detroit). Game 5 is Sunday at 5pm PST.

By the end of the game, we knew Andrew Bynum was hurt, and speculation begin to arise on whether he would play in Game 5. Bynum says he is 100% ready to play in Game 5. The extra day rest was essential in his recovery. An MRI on Friday showed no new damage. The doctor gave Bynum the okay to drain the knee again. Today he is doing fine, and he says he is ready to go for tomorrow:
“It is frustrating, especially during the series,” Bynum said. “But I’m doing okay. The draining worked, and on
Sunday I’m going to be ready to go.”

With Game 5 in Boston, Bynum’s knee didn’t have to go through a 6 hour plane ride which was a further benefit.
Despite the Celtics clamping down defensively on Kobe Byrant, Kobe says he’s just playing bad:
“That’s just me playing like crap,” Bryant said.
Hopefully Kobe is right. While making amazing shots throughout the game, he has been shut down in the 4th quarter of the last three games. Hopefully it’s not the Celtics defense, and Kobe is just making mistakes. And that is something from which he can definitely improve.

Although Kobe says he wasn’t tired, Coach Phil Jackson says otherwise:
“Physically, I thought he had to work too hard in the course of the game, and he couldn’t finish it out the way he wanted to finish it out,” Jackson said. “That’s part of what happened. I thought the matchups in the game kind of dictated those terms, and we’ll have to do something different the next game to get him off the floor and keep him ready for that fourth quarter.”
At the end of Friday’s press conference, Phil pulled a page out of the Rasheed Wallace book, proclaiming that Los Angeles will return to L.A. with a 3-2 lead. And that will be something easily achievable if Bynum can play the whole game, and Kobe stops ‘playing like crap’ in the 4th qtr.

New Designs Coming Soon!

Stack is pushing hard to release our new line.
We’ve made many moves to make our new line top notch! Contacting people in this game to help us with promotion, manufacturing, stickers, designs, labels, consulting, etc.
On our way to have a meeting with Mike from Key Closet, we see this parked in his parking spot:

Nice Bentley, no?
I saw 4 Bentley’s and 3 Ferrari’s in this parking structure. And I was only in one small area of the parking lot.
Looking at those cars gives me motivation to hustle even harder.
After having a talk with Mike, we have made our decision to move forward and include woven labels as well as bottom hem labels.
Here a sneak peek of our new line:
